Aldo Del Serio has disappeared.

He was holidaying in the tropics with his wife when a tsunami struck. His ceramics company is suddenly left without a leader, while Natoli, a recently adopted Belarusian boy, is waiting at the airport for someone to collect him.

Someone has to step in, and the only possible candidate is Aldo’s brother Paolo, a thirty-year-old idle man-child.

Paolo must somehow be transformed into both a father and a manager while everyone waits for news of Aldo, and before the company’s partners and social services realise just how unprepared he is.

Fortunately, there is Manuela, a factory worker and Paolo’s neighbour. She cannot stand him because of his reputation as a womaniser, but for the sake of the boy and the company, the two put their mutual distrust aside.

Then they discover that the company is deep in the red. To save it, some employees will have to be laid off, and Manuela is one of them.

It is finally time for Paolo to grow up.
