STORIES FIRST.
Pepito Produzioni believes in the power of stories and supports original intellectual property at every stage of its journey, from early development through to production.
Since 2010, the company has worked alongside filmmakers and projects with a clear mission: to nurture creative continuity while also championing first-time works.
With a contemporary and distinctive creative identity, Pepito Produzioni operates across both the Italian and international landscape.
VISION AND APPROACH
Agostino Saccà founded Pepito Produzioni in 2010 after more than thirty years at Rai, where he led Rai 1 and Rai Fiction and served as Director General. He continues to lead the company with a clear focus on strong writing and editorial independence.
Development takes place in-house: story editors and screenwriters work closely together on original story outlines, screenplays and formats. This approach grew out of Pepito Lab and is now an integral part of how the company works. Technology supports the team’s work where it improves efficiency, control and quality. Pepito already uses artificial intelligence in production and post-production.
PRODUCTION, CO-PRODUCTION AND SERVICES
Pepito works across three areas. It produces its own projects, overseeing every stage from development to delivery. It co-produces with Italian and international partners. It also provides production resources and expertise to other Italian and international productions, from financial management to production management.
For each project, Pepito develops and manages a financing plan, bringing together public and private funding with contributions from broadcasters, distributors and financial partners.
FILMMAKERS AND THEIR WORK
Pepito builds long-term relationships with filmmakers based on trust. Gianni Amelio directed “La tenerezza”, winner of the Nastro d’Argento for Best Film, and “Hammamet”, which received fourteen David di Donatello nominations. Damiano and Fabio D’Innocenzo made their debut with “La terra dell’abbastanza”, presented at the Berlinale, and established themselves with “Favolacce”, winner of the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay and released in more than thirty countries. Neri Marcorè made his directorial debut with “Zamora”, sold to more than thirty-five territories, and is now working on his second film, “È il pensiero che conta”.
On television, Pepito has made prime-time comedy a regular fixture on Italy’s most-watched channels with the “Purché finisca bene” TV movie collection, and brought history to a mainstream audience with “Mameli - Il ragazzo che sognò l’Italia”, watched by 4.2 million viewers. Alongside film and television, Pepito also produces documentaries and develops animation projects, including “Con Te” with Rai Kids and the feature film “Enrico Mattei, il Gigante”.
PEOPLE AND VALUES
Behind every production is a team that supports it at every stage. Pepito’s strength lies in its independent choices, its care for writers, directors and actors, and its continued commitment to new voices. A focus on writing and connecting with a broad audience has guided the company from day one, with growing attention to international markets.
