Come Fratelli
Giorgio and Alessandro are inseparable friends, and so are their partners, Melissa and Sabrina, who are so close that they become pregnant at the same time. The two men, however, could not be more different. Giorgio runs the museum dedicated to Antonio Canova in Treviso: impulsive, disorganised and clumsy, but always well-intentioned. Alessandro is a physiotherapist who works from home: rational and caring, though more vulnerable than he would like to admit.
One night, a tragic car accident claims the lives of Melissa and Sabrina, leaving the two friends alone with baby Samuele and Michele. Between nappies, sleepless nights and work schedules to juggle, Giorgio and Alessandro make an unexpected decision: to move in together and raise the children side by side.
An unconventional family is born, two fathers and two sons, built on domestic squabbles, improvised alliances and a tenderness neither man knew he possessed. As the years pass, the boys grow up seeing both men as their parents, and their fragile balance finally seems secure.
Then Noelle arrives, a young PhD student working at the museum, and Giorgio finds himself falling in love again. After years of grief, he begins to dream of starting over and building a new life with her. For Alessandro, the prospect is devastating: the thought of breaking up their family and reducing the life they share to occasional visits makes him fear losing everything they have built together.
Will Giorgio and Alessandro realise that their greatest strength lies precisely in having stayed together, and fight for the family they have chosen?
