Nero
Nero is a middle-aged petty criminal who survives on small-time crime to support his sister Imma, who suffers from severe mental illness.
During a supermarket robbery, a shot from his gun accidentally and fatally wounds a petrol station attendant. Shaken and on the run, Nero is stunned to learn that the man has miraculously regained consciousness without a scratch.
The miracle is attributed to the “Madonna of the Detergents”, a statue of the Virgin Mary towering above one of the supermarket aisles. But Abate, a police officer studying the security footage, becomes convinced that the real healing power belongs to Nero.
Desperate, Abate begs him to save his daughter, who has been in a coma for years. When Nero succeeds in waking her, he realises that he possesses an extraordinary gift.
But the gift comes at a terrible price: with every person he heals, Nero gradually loses one of his five senses.
How much of himself will he be willing to sacrifice to save others?
