Present day.

As war breaks out in Eastern Europe, Olha, a music-loving teenager, is forced to flee her city with her family and seek refuge in an isolated farmhouse in the countryside, taking her beloved cat Vanessa with her.

In this suspended place, time seems to settle in layers, and Olha begins to encounter traces of a distant past: the story of Stella and Igo, two Jewish siblings who hid in the very same farmhouse with their dog Zeit during the Second World War.

Through the animals, symbols of an innocence that transcends generations, past and present become connected, revealing how the same emotions, fear, love, hope and an unshakeable will to survive, can unite people fleeing very different wars.

Faced with a sacrifice that cannot be undone, Olha comes to understand that memory is a living bond and that, even in the darkest moments, time still carries the promise of a better future.
