Massimo is the protégé and surrogate son of Manfredi, a celebrated architect at the heart of Turin’s high society. Francesca is Manfredi’s biological daughter and a gifted architect in her own right. Much to her father’s disappointment, however, she has abandoned her career and moved to France with a husband whom Manfredi considers utterly unworthy of her.

When Francesca returns to Turin to visit her father, Manfredi asks her to complete the renovation of a magnificent villa on the outskirts of the city, working alongside Massimo.

What the celebrated architect does not realise, or perhaps understands all too well, is that a powerful attraction will grow between Massimo and Francesca, fuelled by everything they have in common: both are introverted, guarded and afraid to surrender to life and its surprises.
