Le mie ragazze di carta uses the universal language of comedy to explore two defining moments in the lives of three teenagers: the transition from puberty to early adolescence, with first loves and rugby matches, and the move from the countryside to the city.

It is the late 1970s in the Treviso area, a period of rapid urban expansion that sweeps up the Bottacin family: Primo, Anna and Tiberio.

For all of them, and especially for young Tiberio, the transition from rural life to an urban environment proves anything but easy.

It is the story of a period of profound social and economic change, when even cinemas, traditional places of shared entertainment, were forced to turn to adult films simply to survive.
