Based on the novel Non sono un assassino by Francesco Caringella.

Deputy Police Chief Francesco Prencipe leaves home to meet his best friend, Judge Giovanni Mastropaolo, whom he has not seen for almost two years.

A two-hour drive for a conversation made up of very few words. One question. One answer.

That same morning, the judge is found dead, killed by a gunshot to the head.
